Where the spirit of Alaska's majestic peaks meets the transformative power of music
Begin Your JourneyBringing World-Class Fine Arts Education to the Mat-Su Valley
Ashley Easton is the founder and Artistic Director of Summit Fine Arts Academy. She is an Alaskan-born performing arts advocate with over 13 years of experience as a choral director and a lifetime invested in the performing arts.
She began piano at age three and performed with elite youth choirs including the Colorado Children's Chorale and the Oregon Children's Chorale throughout her childhood. Her music endeavors led her through college on a full-ride piano scholarship before returning home to Alaska to complete her master's degree.
Ashley's experience spans a wide range of performing arts roles โ from lead roles on stage, musical directing and choreography, accompaniment, festival clinician, guest conducting, arranging, adjudicating, and of course choral conducting. Currently she is the Choral Director at Chugiak High School, where she directs the incredible Mustang Choirs. Under her leadership, these talented ensembles have racked up 15+ national awards in just three years, gaining a statewide reputation for excellence and artistry. Her Mustang Choir sang Ashley's own arrangement of the National Anthem at Fenway Park for the Boston Red Sox โ packed stadium, unforgettable moment. Most recently, her ensembles performed at the Alaska Music Educators Association Conference.
Recognized by the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development as a Teacher Spotlight honoree, Ashley's mission extends beyond music โ she also teaches CTE business and tech skills, helping students blend creativity with hands-on entrepreneurship. Her students learn to lead, create, and communicate with confidence.
She founded Summit to bring high-level performance culture to the community that raised her. To create a space for artists of all ages to have access to high-level training, mentorship, and opportunity. A place where excellence is cultivated, and students learn not only how to find their summit, but how to map the ascent required to reach it.
Starting with choir classes, Summit Fine Arts Academy is just beginning its journey. This is only the first stepโlike climbing Alaska's peaks, we're taking it one beautiful note at a time. As we grow, so will our offerings, bringing theater, dance, visual arts, and more to our community.
"Every great symphony starts with a single note. Every mountain is climbed one step at a time."
